Take a pontoon ride on the wild side.

It’s not lions and tiger and bears – but Fairfield Harbour has its share of wildlife. On any given day in Fairfield Harbour you can see otters, osprey, eagles, deer, turtles, dolphins, wild turkeys, turkey vultures, alligators and an occasional Bear. The perfect way to see the wildlife up close and personal is through Palm Coast Eco Pontoon Tours, a new business set up in Fairfield Harbour by Rene and Sandra Casado.

Sandra is a dance instructor by trade and competes in national dance competitions. Rene was the dance competition videographer for 24 years. They moved to Fairfield Harbour on January 1, 2015 from Orange County, California. While running a dance studio in Fairfield Harbour, they had their eye on another business – the Tour Boat business. In 2017, they decided to re-invent themselves and bought Palm Coast Tours from Les and Susanne Pendleton. A tour business with a different slant was born – they explored the wildlife in the rivers and creeks of Fairfield Harbour. While the timeshare visitors are their main audience they also cater to anyone that wants to experience the backwater creeks of Fairfield Harbour.

There are stringent requirements to become a captain of a tour boat business. Rene explains, “I had to take a captain’s course, drug test, physical exam, and an extensive background check. And the boat must be prep to meet Coast Guard standards.”

The tour starts at Northwest Creek Marina, continues to the Shoreline Marina then up Northwest Creek. For more information: Email - palmcoasttours@gmail.com or Call - (252)665-1175.
