Inside the gated community of Fairfield Harbour - and established in 1972 - is the Blackbeard Sailing Club (BSC) which has about a 200-family member base built almost exclusively on a referral basis. Often, visitors to this marina come and tie up to the wet docks from a nationwide organization known as Yachting Clubs of America (YCA).
The videos and photos shows the ETYSA Sailing Camp with its 8 to 16 year old participants that will learn to sail on the Neuse River from a team of local certified instructors. These camps consist of week long summer sessions providing instruction in basic dinghy sailing, exposing juniors to different types of sailboats plus a mixture of fun on and off-the-water activities. The main goal is to promote interest in sailing and to provide knowledge & experience for safe boating.
