Growing the Next Generation: Fairfield Harbour Garden Club sponsors $1000 Scholarship

A peak at the summer gardens of Fairfield Harbour.

The Fairfield Harbour Garden Club (FHGC) is offering a $1000 scholarship to a Craven County high school senior graduating in 2018 that is interested in furthering their studies in the fields of horticulture and/or related subjects. The winning recipient will be presented the scholarship money at the FHGC May 8th luncheon. For 12 consecutive years, the FHGC has helped local students launch their academic careers in horticulture. The scholarship money is raised from Garden Club sponsored plants sales. The next plant sale is scheduled for April 21 at the Fairfield Harbour community center parking lot. The garden club enjoys a strong and active membership of 144 women and men. With meetings the 2nd Monday of the month, the garden club encourages and educates the community on the best gardening practices for the New Bern, NC area.
