Each December the Fairfield Harbour Yacht Club sponsors the Commodores' Food Drive. The Commodores’ Food Drive is designated for Religious Community Services (RSC) in the city of New Bern. The two and a half days event in December of 2017 raised 2614 pounds of food and $3115 dollars. RCS reported that this set a new record for food collected from one source.

RCS is committed to addressing the basic needs by providing food, clothing and shelter to those who need it most. RSC engages its guests through a series of educational opportunities, financial and employment support, as well as counseling to people living in Craven County. Over the past few years, the demands for services has increased dramatically and RCS relies heavily on communities, local businesses and churches to help support their mission.
RCS works to assist in the growth and development of their guests for long-term success. RCS encourage others to not only make financial commitments, but to get involved and make a difference. They offers a variety of quality programs and services that promote self-sufficiency.
