Join Tryon Palace to explore the division of Patriots and Loyalists at this month's Lunch and Learn. On August 19, 1781, British soldiers and loyalists arrived in New Bern for a three-day raid on the city. During the Lunch and Learn, guests will learn more about the events that occurred more than 200 years ago in the city of New Bern.
The August Lunch and Learn uses the 1781 British raid on New Bern to examine the complexities of loyalty and the civil war that characterized the American Revolution in the southern colonies.
