Fairfield Harbour Fishing Club – Camaraderie and Education

The Fairfield Harbour Fishing Club is not only a great club to join for the camaraderie of fellow fishermen but it is the venue to learn how to catch the fish that dwell in our local waters.

The July meeting speaker, Capt. Dave Stewart, went into great detail about where, when, and how to capture red drums of the Neuse river. In fishing tale tradition – an anecdote was shared where a member was on a trip with Dave and they hooked ten big drum and landed six. How is that for a testimony of Capt. Dave’s expertise?

Big Red Drum Tournament is scheduled for Tuesday, August 29, with a rain date of Thursday, August 31. The Lower Neuse Anglers will host the tourney out of Whittaker Point Marina in Oriental. Fishing is from 7 am to 1 pm with lunch scheduled at the Marina at 1:30 pm. Prizes will be awarded for the most fish, largest fish, and the winning club.

Fairfield Harbour Fishing Club will start collecting money for the annual Wounded Warrior fishing trip scheduled for Sunday, October 1, on the Capt. Stacy boat out of Morehead City.
