Meet Dr. Joyce Gerardi and Kindred-Canines in Motion

Fairfield Harbour resident and CBC member, Dr. Joyce Gerardi provides veterinary services that can help your family pet. She offers specialized wellness, arthritis, and pain management therapies to the family pet and skilled working service dogs.

She has considered New Bern her home since she graduated from veterinary school 22 years ago and her family had settled here. She has been gone the past ten years serving the deaf with the North American Mission Board and now she has decided to invest in her home town. She is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and has served with “hearing alert” dogs over the past ten years and continues to serve those with a physical disability.

Kindred-Canines In Motion (KIM) is a non-profit (501c3) foundation offering mobile in-home wellness veterinary care. Dr. Gerardi offers care to service and assistance dogs used by those with a disability who depend on these special dogs to live active and productive lives. She helps veterans, those immobile and confined to a wheelchair, the blind and the deaf who depend on a service or assistance animal. The KIM foundation was named to honor her niece Kim, who fell from her horse in Raleigh, in 1997, and is a quadriplegic who relies on her special dog to keep her independent every day.

KIM now offers individualized care to pets in Fairfield Harbour. KIM specializes in pain management therapies, holistic veterinary care, acupuncture, herbal medicine, rehabilitation services and stem-cell regenerative therapies so your pet can stay active and healthy longer.

Dr. Gerardi will conduct “Healthy Pet Talks” to be held at the Community Center in 2016: Saturday, on March 19, 2:30-3:45 pm, Living with Arthritis.
