Fishing

Fish are abundant in the Neuse and Trent rivers and their tributaries. The brackish water provides a haven for both freshwater and saltwater species.

Fairfield Harbour offers a Fishing Club for members with or without boats to participate in fishing seminars, trips, tournaments and meetings. Many local fishing guides visit the club to provide members with expert advice for targeting local species like Red Drum, Speckled Trout, and Striped Bass.

Local anglers enjoy deep sea fishing out of Morehead City and catch Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin, Grouper, Snapper, or King Mackerel. The Morehead City Fishing Charters are available for a full or half day on the open seas where you can reel in the big catch, soak up some sun, or just relax with the sea wind in your face.

Catch the Big One!

"This large mouth bass was caught from my dock on Upper Broad Creek. Fishing here in Fairfield Harbour is a great pasttime. I'm an active member of the Fairfield Harbour Fishing Club. Every year we host "Take a Kid Fishing Day". It is rewarding way to give back to the community.
